Fresh from the Lab
[Blog Post: PROOF v1.1 Release] We released PROOF v1.1, which addresses usability issues and adds features. Key updates include new visualization tabs for easier analysis display, persistent login to avoid re-authentication, and an updated default scratch directory for the Fred Hutch cluster. These improvements are aimed at streamlining the user experience and enhancing functionality for data analysis workflows.
Our Weekly Bookmarks Bar
[Podcast: Change, Technically] We have been enthusiastically listening to this wonderful podcast by Ashley Juavinett and Cat Hicks exploring the disconnect between engineering managers and developers. They emphasize the importance of interdisciplinary thinking and non-technical skills, such as communication and empathy, in creating effective software teams. The conversation challenges traditional hiring and evaluation practices, advocating for a broader understanding of intelligence and problem-solving abilities that can benefit technical work.
