[Reflection: Drug Development Failure - How GLP-1 Development Was Abandoned in 1990] Former Dean of Harvard Medical School Jeffrey Flier discusses the early development of GLP-1, a now-successful therapeutic class for diabetes and obesity, and how initial efforts in the late 1980s by the biotech company MetaBio were prematurely abandoned despite promising results.
