Fresh from the Lab
[Research Publication: Addressing 6 Challenges in Generative AI for Digital Health: A Scoping Review] This scoping review identifies six key challenges in using generative AI in digital health: bias, privacy concerns, prompt misinterpretation, hallucinations, overreliance on text models, and dynamic behavior. Despite the potential benefits, practitioners must understand these limitations to avoid patient harm and unintended consequences. The review suggests solutions such as rigorous fairness evaluations, local AI model hosting, adversarial testing, and a focus on non-text data applications, emphasizing the need for interdisciplinary collaboration and regulatory clarity to enhance AI's role in healthcare.
